I Was a Barbie Girl

A couple weeks ago, I went to my parents to have a garage sale. My poor parents, everytime they visit, I send another box full of stuff home with them. They probably had about 20 boxes of my "junk" stored in their attic. Since I was going to be there a little longer than normal to prepare for our massive sale, we decided this was a good time to go through my old Barbie stuff. We had been saving it in case I had a daughter, but it doesn't look like that will happen.

Little did I know that my boys would have so much fun playing with my Barbies. I would've kept them, but Daddy would NOT be happy!! If Hunter saw me with the camera out, he would take off running to the other room. He DID NOT want proof that he was playing with dolls. HA!
(Hayden wanted to keep the Ken dolls that didn't sell at Nana & Papa's house and he gave the Barbie dolls to our friend Bell. In his mind, Ken dolls are ok for boys to play with because they are boys.)

Look at this mess!!

Barbie swimming pool...This was one of my favorites! Mom didn't like it too much because I would make messes with the water, but it sure was fun!!
Barbie's kitchen.... The timer on the oven still worked after 25 years!!! I couldn't believe it!!
I think this went with Night/Day Barbie. One side is her office; the other side is her bedroom.
Surf 'N Shop Store
McDonald's (this was another one of my favorites)
Workout Equipment (After they eat at McDonalds)
Bubbling Spa (I remember thinking how cool this was!)
This was a playground for the Heart Family. Remember them? They were just like Barbies. I think it was a set: Mom, Dad, and 2 babies. I also had their living room, nursery, and their car. The car came with carseats for the babies. It was so cute!!

We also found my Cabbage Patch Dolls!!!!

I didn't realize how much Barbie stuff I had!! I guess I forgot to take pictures of the cars, the dollhouse furniture, and the dolls and clothes. Oh, did it bring back some memories!!! It was so fun putting it all together, and a little bit sad letting it go! But I have my pictures now, and some little girl bought almost all of it so I know it's in a better place. It reminds me of Toy Story 3. HA!! They have been in the attic for so long, and now they are finally being played with. :)

I was a Barbie girl too!! I didn't have any of those things, but I had a lot of other cool stuff too. I had the Heart Family!! Mine are all in my dad's attic somewhere I believe. I'm just waiting for Dani to really get interested in them. Thanks for the memories!

Thanks for the memories! I loved the pool and spa. Although her desk in the office was horrible. The leg would never stay up:)

Thanks for linking to my blog!

What memories, I had all those barbie things too! Sadly my mom didn't keep them and we have 3 girls. My favorite was the barbie pool and the McDonalds. They don't make Barbie the way they used to.

This garage sale season this is what I will be looking for. Old school Barbie!
