On December 12th, our dog of 14 years passed away. Rebel was such a good dog. He was a Basenji, which is a barkless dog from Africa. He was so smart. He didn't bark, but he communicated by pacing, wimpering, pawing, or whining. He had lost his hearing and eye-sight a couple years ago and also had arthritis, so I know he was in pain. We were all very upset by his loss, but know that he is no longer suffering.
On New Year's Day, Hayden tells me, "I said 'Happy New Year' to Rebel." I thought he meant one of the other dogs, so I said, "How did you do that?" He said, "I just looked up like this." (as he looked up to heaven.) Then he said, "I just love Rebel." He is so sweet!!
