Appreciated

Tonight I was invited by one of my former students, Annette Saucedo, to attend a Teacher Appreciation dinner at her church. She invited me last year, but I couldn't go because I had to work a Literacy night at my school. I am so happy I got to attend this year. I feel so honored to have been invited, and it was such a joy to hear so many students express their appreciation to their teachers for their hard work and dedication. Teachers are always hearing what they do wrong or how everything is their fault, so it's really nice that Annette's church hosts this program each year to honor teachers.

This is me with Annette. She is the sweetest girl. If only all of my students could be just like her........ Her speech actually brought tears to my eyes. She is a one-of-a-kind student that I will never forget!
